HIGHFIELD TUNNELLING COMPANY LIMITED

Construction Services & Plant Hire

SHAFT SINKING

Construction of shafts is normally done by either underpinning, as a caisson, or from within a Cofferdam and at Highfield Tunnelling we have both the experience and support services to carry out these methods in order to achieve the final product.

Whether a client requires a pumping station, storage tank, manhole, foundations or any other use for a shaft then Highfield Tunnelling can provide the solution to achieve this.

TUNNELLING

Tunnelling is a general term that can apply to the installation of a small drainage pipe through to the construction of a large transport tunnel.

Highfield Tunnelling has been carrying out projects at both ends of this scale for over 20 years.

As a result we have extensive experience in microtunnelling, pipejacking, auger boring, headings, conventional tunnelling and the supply of tunnelling gangs for large TBM operations.

Furthermore this has lead to our ability to supply auxiliary services such as shotcreteing and sprayed concrete, tunnel lining, pointing, caulking and other tunnel repair works.

PLANT HIRE

We have a large fleet of both tracked and wheeled excavators for hire. This ranges from a 32-t Liebherr that has a telescopic grab attachment capable of excavations upto 20m in depth through to mini excavators for general site use.

Also available are a range of hydraulic crawler cranes from 5-t to 50-t plus supplementary plant  for shaft sinking and tunnelling operations.
